This is the entrance, or Main Gate as we call it around here, to Higher Learning Studios. It is part of the main navigation known as a "title page". Each title page is a section with a theme that has many sub-sections as part of that theme. It is also around if for any reason the navbar is unavailable, or not loading properly, then you have these pages to refer too. In addition, it provides a brief description of each of the sub-sections, like the list shown below.

On your right (the driver's left) you will notice a brief description given for each of the main sections for this website. If you visit each of the title pages, you will see a complete list of sub-sections with a detailed description of each. Of course, if you can wait to dive in to the good stuff, then feel free to go directly to the page you want to visit first.
Last, but not least, are the links at the bottom of this page, known as the alternate navigation section, or alt-navbar. It doesn't list all of the pages in the site, unlike the site map offers, but it does list the title pages and a couple key pages that everyone needs a link too. That way if the buttons in the header don't work because of your browser version or some other cosmic reason, then you have those text links available to help navigate the site. This is a very common practice for those of us who love to make navigation menus using graphics or javascript. Since not everyone uses the same browser or operating system, then its best to cover the widest audience available.
