The clock you see below was designed based off the logo created for the Brookfield Jazz Society. The image you see below was originally used as the face for an actual clock, which was donated to the society. The Flash animation below can also tell time as well as back the statement on the face that reads:
Any time is a good time for Jazz
(Hint: place your mouse over the face of the clock)
How does it know the right time? The ActionScript within the Flash animation first gets the time off the local user's computer. From there, the hands move based on a series of basic calculations to simulate the tracking of time. Since the mouse tracking movement is independent from the hand sequence, the animation plays without affecting the display of the current time.
Please understand that as cool as this animation is, it may not be displayed on any website except for the Brookfield Jazz Society website.
