Below are some brief descriptions of the movies that were created using the program 3D Studio Max. This page will be updated as the movies on the main page are updated.
Title: Titan 1 Spacecraft - The Movie
Duration: 3:00 minutes
Screen Size: 320 x 240
Description: The Titan 1 Spacecraft was created as a stand-alone 3D object that included the ability to animate the retractable wings and landing gear as necessary. Once completed, the Titan 1 was merged with another 3D modeling project known as the Star base on Iona Prime in a completely different 3D realm that included the various planets and asteroid field. The final project also contained a movie reel that explained what happen to the occupants of the start base in the form of an out take reel. However, due to the content that was displayed in the out take reel, it was removed from the current version of the movie. The current version of this project had the introduction text omitted to reduce the overall file size. That introduction segment is being reedited and will be added to the movie in the near future.
Title: Titan 1 Spacecraft
Duration: 1:00 minute
Screen Size: 320 x 240
Description: The Titan 1 Spacecraft was created to be the most powerful space traveling vehicle known to man in a galaxy far away that no one ever heard of to begin with. Needless to say, on this planet, it turned out to be a really cool project for 3D modeling. The final output can be imported into any other project and maintain all of its design characteristics, features and textures.
Title: Planet HLS
Duration: 0:10 seconds
Screen
Size: 320 x 240
Description: This is an example of an animated logo created in a 3D environment. It was animated by rotating a camera with a fixed light source around a sphere and having the text move along an assigned path. The screen size that this animation was viewed at is good as title screen in a small movie to help advertise the company. The best part about having the original 3D file is that the original animation can be saved at any size and incorporated into a miniature logo for websites or full screen to be used in a television commercial.
Title: The Spy That Didn't Show Up
Duration: 1:35 minutes
Screen
Size: 320 x 240
Description: Everyone has to start some when learning how to create animations. In this particular case the indoor environment project was assigned as a first step to familiarize a person with the realm of 3D modeling. The movie short was completely built and rendered from 3D Studio Max. Even the still shots used at the end were taken from the original project. Everything was later complied in Adobe Premiere Pro to include sound, title screens and credits to finalize the project.
